Carpo

This is the third store of the Carpo chain following the ones at Kolonaki and London.

This 62.50m2 store’s purpose is to sell freshly baked nuts, freshly cut coffee, sundried fruits and handmade chocolate.

The existence of a loft that takes half of the ground floor surface creates a two story high façade for the store giving the opportunity to have a big entrance door  and high interior walls that will help exhibit the products and highlight the elements of the design.A vertical sliding frame along with a fixed wooden bench on its base are used on the façade of the store, interconnecting the coffee zone with the public space while at the same time defining the entrance, the flow to the inside of the store and the different service zones.

The staircase that leads to the loft is hidden behind a wall at the far back of the store, so that the main space of the store remains clear. The essential packaging materials (like cans, bags and  sacks) and the products (nuts, coffee, chocolate, fruits) were exposed and used as parts of the scenery and decoration. The materials used were unprocessed wood, metal and marble.
