Heartbeat Mountain Escapes

The subject of the study was the design of the hospitality complex Heartbeat Mountain Escapes, consisting of three independent residences in the lower district of Trikala, Corinthia. Although located within the settlement, the plot of the study presents a steep slope and opens to the eastern horizon with an unobstructed view of the mountains and the Corinthian Gulf, elements that played a major role in the positioning and orientation of the units.

Seeking optimal adaptation to the steep natural terrain combined with minimizing the construction footprint, the architects chose to join two units at the highest point of the plot and let the third "slide" down the slope to ensure complete privacy for the residents while not obstructing the view from the upper residences.

The design intention was to highlight the area's characteristics by integrating the volumes into the landscape and vegetation, as well as translating the unique features of the local architecture through a contemporary perspective.
