Souvlaki Bar

The two floor building where SVL BAR restaurant is accommodated is located at the end of Adrianou street at Thiseio and for many years was used as a timber trade store.

Willing to keep the building’s industrial appearance and the features of its old usage, most of the interior surfaces were covered with cement-board, some with rough wood and on the floor, an industrial mold material was applied.

The space is equipped with cheese cans, ropes as lamps and wooden crates arranged at the stare wall, which all are products that you can find at the wider area of Monastiraki.

Main element of the design is an olive tree which is rooted on a balcony in the middle of the building and almost reaches the skylight at the gable roof, allowing the light come in at the day time. The olive tree is the connection of the building’s environment, while there is an olive grove at the food of Acropolis, with the interior of the building.

Outside the building kept its old form and the only intervention is the sign, a metal box with the restaurant’s logo.
