Bicubic
Residence
A quiet intersection in the west of Athens welcomes a two-family house, strongly influenced by the modern movement. The residence consists of two cubist projections - trunk - on either side of an architectural recess resting on two curved walls-base.
The entrance to the architectural structure is from the middle of one side, between the two curved walls, which hold the structure together, giving it the feeling of swinging and leading to the central staircase at the back. The two identical dwellings are divided into two functional zones: that of sleeping areas and that of living areas, on either side of the circulation zone.
The recess that divides the floor plan, including the staircase and the main entrance of each house, is the same one that can be easily read in the general structure of the building, dividing the cubist geometries of the facades.
