C-Pavilion
Office Space in the woods
C-Pavilion is a former gazebo converted into a contemporary working space. It is allocated in the midst of a densely vegetated private area. The extraordinary landscape hosts a number of small scale office buildings among pine trees and endemic Mediterranean species of plants and shrubs. The principal aim of the project is to maintain the relation of the structure to its surrounding nature: the panopticon feeling under the free-standing roof. Wide sliding doors blur the boundary between the indoor and outdoor space, creating a seamless visual connection.
A mirror- cladded wall complements the 360° lap of nature. The decagonal floor plan is organized though a superimposed orthogonal grid. A semi-transparent screen of wooden and glass vertical elements creates a filter between the private clusters and the co-working zone. Slim linear light fixtures and sound-absorbing panels suspended from the ceiling highlight the orthogonal arrangement of space. The office provides diverse working experiences ranging from permanent to temporary, formal to informal, private to communal and fixed to mobile.
