Two-storey House

in Filothei

Drawing upon modernism and the needs of contemporary life, the two-storey house combines solid concrete elements with continuous large windows, creating an openness and a synthesis of bare materialities and reflections. The building is placed on the plot in an L shaped layout, in order to environ the main garden area from the street views and the northern wind. This shape is also reflected on the facades, with the prominent slabs meeting vertically in the northern part and the inner envelope, constituting two distinct entities.

The program is developed on two main levels and an attic. The private spaces and the gaming area are located on the upper floor, while the living room and the kitchen on the ground level. Through the large windows, the common areas open towards the landscape meeting outdoor spaces, thus blurring the line between inside and outside.
