Domus Blanc Chania

Domus Blanc

Aristocratic Simplicity at the Heart of Chania.

Nestled between the Eleftherios Venizelos Foundation and Kagiale Square, the once-abandoned and iconic French Consulate has been revived, reintroducing itself with a mesmerizing new look. Today’s Domus Blanc Boutique Hotel, is a truly majestic historic property.

It’s one of those buildings that captivate at first sight, a jewel in the Halepa neighborhood and a prized addition to the Domus Elegance Collection’s luxurious accommodations and the city’s heritage. The building, dating back to 1870, is the work of the esteemed engineer Leonidas Lygounis.

It has undergone an exemplary restoration, bearing over 150 years of - mostly illustrious - history. Paul Blanc, a distinguished diplomat honored with the Knight of the Legion of Honor, resided here while heading the French Consulate in Crete for 15 years.
