Residences in Tinos
The project draws inspiration from the landscape of Tinos, a magma of unruly morphology of the natural terrain which has been tamed over the centuries by the human hand with the “xerolithia” technique. In this way, dry stones are formed as grooves in the ground with a gradual de-escalation that create a base for the residence.
As these linear structures extend over the land, the slab of the house develops, parallel to the topography lines. Stone for the base, white plaster for the oblong volume of the residence and bright blue for the water as a uniting element of the other two Beneath this slab, unfold not only living spaces but also covered outdoor ones.
The first residence is delimited by the outline of its pool and by the extensions of its outdoor configurations. A sloped wall, the only element of unusable concrete forms the entrance, which is made from the rear of the building. Inside, its hard shell "breaks" and remains "transparent", allowing the interior space to merge with the exterior.
