Κ45 Residence in Palaio Psychiko

This private residence is located in the neighborhood of Palaio Psychiko on a plot of 785m². It occupies a total of 540 m² and is developed in three levels. On the elevated level of the ground floor are the living and kitchen areas, on the first level are the rooms and on the lower level are accommodated playroom and guest house. The project is an extension and reconstruction of an older house located on the plot. The requirement of the owners was to maintain the location and the contour of the older building but at the same time to create a modern house that will meet their functional and aesthetic requirements.

Parameters of the design were the house to turn to the inner garden which also has SE orientation and to have a "filter" in relation to the city. This filter is the boundary of the house in relation to the street and the passer-by, indicating that you have to cross it to “take part” in family life. This "filter" is drilled to integrate the main entrance and transfer lighting and ventilation to the rooms.
