At Cavo Spada Luxury Resort andSpa there are 150 accommodationunits.

All the room and suitesluxuriously furnished, spacious andcomfortable. Design flair, cool andrelaxing colors, cozy textiles, woodfurnishings, modern and tastefuldécor. This hotel was built on aseaside site of 41,000 m2 with aslight incline and a narrow sea front.One central building was built witha central corridor/axis some fivemeters wide and fifty meters longcovered by a wooden roof. At thetwo ends of this corridor are the entranceand exit from the main building.

The geometry, coverage andheight of this space bring to minda monumental ecclesiastical spacesuch as a basilica. Along the lengthof this corridor, secondary corridorsand stairs branch off, leading toother areas and other levels of thehotel. At the entrance level there arethe saloons, the bar and verandas,restaurants and the kitchen. On thelower levels are the multi-purposerooms and the hotel’s spa.

The rooms occupy diagonally-alignedwings which are located aroundthe large central pool so that theyhave a view of the sea and toincrease the hotel’s exposure tothe water. Coloured plasterwork,marble in various shades, woods such as niangon and veneers wereused. Moreover, various walls werecladded to give a dry-stone walleffect so that the entire structureappears to be handmade to thehotel guests. In other words, anattempt is made to create a holidayatmosphere through the materialsand how they are used, in what isan otherwise modern building, andnot through traditional, quaint approaches.
