The space is housing the American candy Dippin Dots, which substance consists of thousands of little sweet balls frozen at -40 degrees Celsius.
We wanted to emphasize at the flavors and the colours of the product and at the product itself through placing it in an environment whose mild and modest atmosphere would allow the color and the particular product morphology to appear.
In essence, the space being whitewashed, covered with white cement in terms of sculpture, works as a canvas, leaving some tensions (colourful lighting, furniture, facilities) to define its use and to guide the movement of visitors inside.
The whole design aimed to create a single surface with the external environment, as a part of the public space. The free front side of the store, consisting of a perforated metal folding door, opened at the operation hours, defines an extrovert shell in the public space of the downtown area.
Focal design element was the alternation of the surface color of interior volume - canvas - whose color is changed when movement commands are transferred to a system with motion sensors.Meanwhile, coloured video art is projected at the surface of the central dome of the tumor.
Finally, the design of the individual components used clever engineering modes. As a main example of this idea we mention the awning shading the outside of the shop, whose drive system is based on articulated arms, that open and close using counterweights.
