Stirixis Exclusive completed the renovation and decoration of a 2-storey apartment, located in the northern suburbs of Athens, Greece. The project won the “Best Interior Design Apartment in Greece” Award by the European Property Awards 2014-2015 in London.
The challenge was to convert an outdated 80’s apartment into a modern residence. To achieve this, the interior was demolished and re-built.
The main concept was to create a space that exploits the natural light coming from the large windows and unifies the living room, the dining room and the kitchen in an open-space scheme. Most of the walls were replaced by bronze semi-transparent glass partitions which make it look bigger and lighter.
Aesthetically, various construction elements were used to give a modern edge, such as the “floating” staircase with LED lighting, the beige forced cement on the living room floor and fireplace, providing contrast in terms of coloring and styling.
