The hotel was built in 1974 withinthe city plan of Heraklion, near theport zone and bordering with theold historic city center. The hoteloverlooks the sea. The building’ssize and location turned it into alandmark, both a spatial and asocial one.

In 1993, the new hotelowner renovated the building whichhad been disqualified as a construction.A relatively new shell wasconstructed; its interior and exteriorwere both designed from scratchwithin the limits of the existing geometry.In 2013 the new technological,functional and aesthetic needsled to new renovation. A new shellwas constructed with heating andsound insulation in accordance withthe most up to date specifications.The floors in the rooms were fullyrenovated.
